…on a rainy summer day in New York City. After a casual dinner and a nightly walk around the West Village, we quickly became good friends and, soon, more than friends. Through months that followed, together we walked and talked, laughed and wept, and sang and danced—a lot. Having lived as lone expats for years, it came as such a blessing to be able to connect with someone so deeply.
At our first anniversary dinner at a French restaurant near Washington Square Park, the designer proposed to the nurse. We took a moment to process and, with teary eyes and pounding hearts, we held hands and decided:
“Let us take a big bite into the life together!”
